It is a BIG jump to take a formula from 100g up to 1000kg:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the machinery is incredibly different<\/li>\n<li>different batches of materials get used,<\/li>\n<li>heating, cooling and mixing times differ significantly<\/li>\n<li>the process goes from skilled lab technicians\/chemists to production staff relying on a method<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Normal scale up steps involve 10-20x increases in batch size, and one of the most difficult jumps is from a 1-2 kg large lab batch, to a 20 \u2013 40kg pilot batch \u2013 because the equipment used in a lab, and the processing steps, differ dramatically from the large lab batch to the small production batch\u2026. Until, the IKA LR1000.<\/p>\n<p>The IKA LR1000 is amazing lab scale up equipment. Instead of relying on large lab equipment and skills of the formulation chemist, it replicates small batch equipment and can test and validate your method steps before proceeding to a pilot batch.
