Formulating vegan friendly and Halal certified products is a rapidly growing trend around the globe \u2013 and it\u2019s not as difficult as you may think – if you understand the rules of what is permitted, and what is not. Formulating palm free cosmetics is much more difficult. While simply avoiding palm oil is easy to do, a lot of consumers and formulators are not aware of just how extensively palm oil derivatives are used in the personal care industry. From glycerine<\/a>, to emulsifiers<\/a> and even antioxidants<\/a> and surfactants<\/a> \u2013 formulating without palm oil or its derivatives can pose a challenge to even experienced formulators.<\/p>\n

So, exactly which ingredients in cosmetics are not vegan friendly, or not suitable in Halal products? Which ingredients may contain palm oil derivatives that you are not aware of?
