In the coatings and inks market, there is growing awareness regarding the safety of substances that may come into contact with food, such as the food\u2019s packaging. Regulations related to food contact exist in North America, South America, Europe, China, and Japan. Manufacturers of coatings and inks often seek out raw materials that meet food contact compliance qualifications in all of these regions \u2013 not just one region. In addition to meeting regulatory requirements, manufacturers of coatings and inks also expect superior performance of their raw materials.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, suppliers of coating and ink raw materials \u2013 such as defoaming, wetting, leveling additives and more \u2013 must ensure that their products meet regulatory requirements and deliver their expected performance benefits. Defoamers and deaerators in particular are used frequently in the industry, as combating foam is the most common challenge in the formulation and application of coatings and inks.
