These materials are used in a variety of applications due to their excellent durability, and mechanical properties. In particular aliphatic polyisocyanates are used to formulate coatings and adhesives for high-end applications (automotive, aerospace, &amp; protective).<\/p>\n<p>However, a large number of polyurethane formulations are solvent-borne and decreasing the amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) can be challenging. Solvent-free technologies and water-borne formulations are two solutions that can be used to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and to help fight against global warming.
