In 2013 a new material, Upsalite<\/a>, was discovered at Sweden\u2019s Uppsala University. It was made possible by Professor Maria Str\u00f8mme and her team of researchers. Previously thought to be impossible to make, Upsalite is an amorphous mesoporous magnesium carbonate \u2013 the only one of its kind!<\/p>\n

This new, patented material enables many possibilities due to its porous structure, large surface area and adsorbing capacity. The secret is in the pores. Each particle contains millions of tiny pores that continuously absorb excess sebum and sweat from skin. In contrast to other ingredients that absorb oil on the surface, Upsalite<\/a> stores the excess sebum on the inside of its porous structure, leaving the skin fresh throughout the day.<\/p>\n
