This standard is a trusted source for establishing high-temperature ratings for plastics. And because an evaluation can take months to determine a rating, choosing a plastic already rated for high temperatures can make a significant positive impact on product development timelines.<\/p>\n<p>But what happens when a known formulation is changed to adjust to supplier conditions or any other design specific reason, and a long-term thermal aging test is considered necessary to validate the already established rating? This can be an unexpected surprise in the development cycle of the molded plastic part.
