Laundry detergent is one of the most used consumer products in the world. As such, it is responsible for a significant portion of logistic burdens and hard plastic packaging coming into the world on a yearly basis. A possible solution? Solid detergents!<\/p>\n

Current solid detergents are composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), a synthetic material substrate. Unfortunately, PVOH is incompatible with some cleaning ingredients such as bleach and struggles to bind an equal amount of active ingredients as are present in liquid detergents, leading to a performance gap between solid and liquid ingredients.<\/p>\n

Enter Valida, Sappi\u2019s all natural, fibrillated cellulose, branded as Valida.
\nValida is completely natural and biodegradable and has excellent active ingredient binding properties and is compatible with extreme pH values, allowing for the introduction of ingredients such as bleach in solid detergents.<\/p>\n

Cellulose is also known for its possibility to form a solid structure (paper or blocks\/bales) upon drying, making it an excellent substrate for solid detergents.<\/p>\n
