There were 73 posters given at the Technology Showcase, which included scientific papers, trends, new raw materials and functional bio-actives. Below you&#8217;ll find a list of the ones I found most interesting and useful.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/Detail\/2669\/326941\/EPITEX-AC-Powder?st=31\" target=\"_blank\">EPITEX\u2122 AC Powder<\/a><\/strong> (Styrene\/Acrylates Copolymer &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/search?k=+Dow+Consumer+&amp;st=31\" target=\"_blank\">Dow Consumer &amp; Industrial Solutions<\/a>) is a wash resistant polymer designed for use in ethanol based sunscreen sprays, In vivo wash resistant testing demonstrated comparable results to the leading benchmark wash resistant polymer (Acrylates\/Octyl Acrylamide Co Polymer). It also is claimed to have better sunscreen solubility and film uniformity on skin. Typical use levels are 1.25-2.5% on a solids basis.<br \/>\nEU: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/Suppliers\/2669\/Dow-Consumer-and-Industrial-Solutions\/search?sug=1&amp;st=31\" target=\"_blank\">Dow Consumer &amp; Industrial Solutions<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/Detail\/6384\/236407\/Sophogreen?st=31\" target=\"_blank\">Sophogreen<\/a><\/strong> (Water, Glucose, Rapeseed Fatty Acid-<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/Suppliers\/6384\/Soliance\/search?sug=1&amp;st=31\" target=\"_blank\">Soliance<\/a>) is a green, non EO, fermentation produced Sophorolipid based surfactant that can be used to solubilize actives and fragrances. The typical active level required to solubilize 1% fragrance is ~3-4% Sophogreen versus 4-8% for PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor oil is an industry benchmark).<\/p>\n<p>RonaCare\u00ae Pristine Bright\u2122 (Butylmethoxyphenylpropanediol-<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/Suppliers\/613\/EMD-Chemicals-Inc---Rona\/search?sug=1&amp;st=31\" target=\"_blank\">EMD<\/a>) is an interesting new skin lightening agent that claims to shift skin color from yellow to blue which helps improve perceived skin whiteness. This is analogous to the use of bluing agents in laundry products to help whiten clothes. The material is also very stable, easy to formulate, and should have good skin penetration properties.<br \/>\nEU: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/eu\/PersonalCare\/Detail\/824\/327456\/RonaCare-Pristine-Bright?st=31\" target=\"_blank\">RonaCare\u00ae Pristine Bright\u2122<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Genemarkers<\/strong> has developed a standardized test that allows researchers to evaluate single test articles (raw material, formulation, finished product) in a cost-effective manner. The gene panel includes 92 genes that play essential roles in skin biology; i.e. extracellular matrix molecules, skin barrier formation, anti-oxidant mechanisms, inflammation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dow Corning ES-5600<\/strong> (Cetyl Diglyceryl Tris (Trimethylsiloxy) silyethyl Dimethicone-<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulprospector.com\/en\/na\/PersonalCare\/Suppliers\/259\/Dow-Corning-Corporation\/search?sug=1&amp;st=31\" target=\"_blank\">Dow Corning<\/a>) is a new non EO silicone based polymeric water in oil emulsifier. While at Procter &amp; Gamble, George was one of the top inventors, with 354 granted and filed global patents (201 U.S. patents). He helped develop many of the core platform technologies used in skin care today with numerous products commercialized under the Olay, Bain de Soleil, Clearasil, Noxzema and SK2 brands. Previously, George was a Senior Chemist and Manager in the area of skin care product development, as well as the Director of Exploratory Formulation for Charles of the Ritz Group. During this time, George received the President\u2019s Cup Award for outstanding business contribution and developed numerous marketed skin care products under the Bain de Soleil, Jean Nate, Yves Saint Laurent and Charles of the Ritz Brands. George is a current member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and is on the scientific advisory board for Cosmetics &amp; Toiletries Magazine. He is a frequent guest lecturer for numerous key global suppliers, as well as for local and national SCC meetings. George is an avid tennis player and follower of the sport. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. While at Procter and Gamble, he worked in skin care product development, global fragrance development, and most recently oral care product development in the Oral Care Advanced Technology Innovation Group. Before being appointed a Victor Miles Research Fellow, he also served as Associate Director of Exploratory Formulation for skin care product development. While at Procter &amp; Gamble, George was one of the top inventors, with 354 granted and filed global patents (201 U.S. patents). He helped develop many of the core platform technologies used in skin care today with numerous products commercialized under the Olay, Bain de Soleil, Clearasil, Noxzema and SK2 brands. Previously, George was a Senior Chemist and Manager in the area of skin care product development, as well as the Director of Exploratory Formulation for Charles of the Ritz Group. During this time, George received the President\u2019s Cup Award for outstanding business contribution and developed numerous marketed skin care products under the Bain de Soleil, Jean Nate, Yves Saint Laurent and Charles of the Ritz Brands. George is a current member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and is on the scientific advisory board for Cosmetics &amp; Toiletries Magazine. He is a frequent guest lecturer for numerous key global suppliers, as well as for local and national SCC meetings. George is an avid tennis player and follower of the sport.
