Organic phosphorous FR additives such as aluminum phosphinate are commonly used in these compounds. However, they require high loadings and co-synergists (up to 20 percent together) to meet regulatory requirements. These loadings degrade PA\u2019s desirable mechanical properties such as impact and elongation.<\/p>\n<p>Further, aluminum phosphinate additives are frequently blended with phosphorus-based synergists such as melamine polyphosphate.
