Specific topics will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand how vibration creates unwanted resonance in audio enclosures<\/li>\n<li>Review Center point Impedance test and evaluate inherent ability of common engineering polymers to dampen vibration and reduce distortion<\/li>\n<li>Present a case study a case study involving in-ear monitors (ear buds) that are fully molded from candidate polymers. The audio performance of each device is analyzed for both cumulative spectral decay (CSD) and total harmonic distortion (THD) to determine the role of the housing material on resonance, distortion, and listener experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Two Eastman polymers, Tritan\u2122 copolyester and Eastman Tr\u0113va\u2122 engineering bioplastic, are compared to common engineering polymers like PC and ABS.
