In this technical webinar, DuPont will discuss the properties, features and benefits of a new silicone-based masterbatch combining compatible slip and anti-block additives in a single, easy-to-use solution.<\/p>\n

DuPont\u2019s new technology delivers a low coefficient of friction (COF) and effective anti-blocking performance for polyethylene (PE) blown film to help achieve higher production speeds, uninterrupted throughput and uniform quality.<\/p>\n

This combined approach can simplify processing by cutting the number of additive feeders required, freeing up space and reducing infrastructure complexity. Beyond the production line, customers can save storage space, facilitate supply chain management and streamline material handling.<\/p>\n

Approved for food contact applications<\/strong>
\nThe new masterbatch is approved for food contact applications in the United States, Europe and China, making it well suited for use in the inner skin layer of food packaging.<\/p>\n

Surpasses organic slip additives<\/strong>
\nCompared to traditional organic additives, the silicone-based technology delivers a consistently low, stable COF unaffected by time or high temperatures. It helps prevent migration to the film surface, avoiding impact on downstream operations such as printing and metallization, and potential contamination of food.<\/p>\n

Helps control costs<\/strong>
\nAnother key benefit is cost-effectiveness. Unlike organics, the new masterbatch is incorporated only into the inner skin layer (example: plastomer) of multi-layer films, reducing the amount required. It is effective at low loadings of 4-6wt percent, which also minimizes haze, and can replace the use of plastic processing additives.<\/p>\n
