For example, low surface energy substrates such as thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membranes or ethylene-propylene diene monomer (EPDM) membranes are notoriously difficult to adhere to. This is due to the lack of chemical functionality on the membrane surface to improve adhesion. This is particularly true on unweathered substrates.<\/p>\n<p>This talk will present an overview of common substrates, legacy strategies that have been employed to adhere to them.
