Chromaflo Technologies will highlight a new product line for two component reactive coatings. Solvent-free, two component, reactive coatings are used for applications that require the high performance properties that only this category can deliver. In such applications, it is a challenge for formulators to pigment their coatings without introducing VOC’s or degrading film properties. This challenge often leads to the use of solvent-free epoxy based colorants. Such colorants have shortcomings inherent to the presence of the epoxy resin itself; settling, crystallization, viscosity increase, and very high viscosity at colder than room temperature are just a few of these shortcomings.
Modern coatings manufactures have slowly become intolerant to these shortcomings as they expand their markets and are demanding a solution to the status quo. In this discussion, we will introduce our new colorant product line, the Chroma-Chem® FLV Series, that addresses all of these shortcomings with a bio-based, sustainable and environmentally friendly product line that can be used in Point-of-Sale and in-plant applications. In addition, this new colorant technology is also compatible in two component polyurethane and some polyaspartic coatings systems. This characteristic allows coatings manufacturers an opportunity for the consolidation of multiple colorant product lines.
