急速に発展する電動車（EV）市場の中で、バッテリーパックの性能と安全性は重要となっています。コベストロ（旧バイエル マテリアルサイエンス）は協力会社とともにEVバッテリーパックの外装向けにポリカーボネート（PC）とLFT-D（Long Fiber Thermal Plastic – Direct）技術を組み合わせた新しいソリューションを開発しました。PC+LFT-Dは機械特性、難燃性、電気絶縁性や軽量性に関して、他の金属・非金属を用いる場合と比較してバランスの取れた性能を高効率の製造プロセス・低コストで実現します。同時に熱可塑性樹脂であるPCはリサイクルが容易で（ポストコンシューマー、ポストインダストリー）、カーボンフットプリントの低減や簡潔な製造プロセスの実現に寄与し、自動車業界における持続可能な開発（SDGs）に貢献します。
