Rajan Thangaraj, Product Manager, Engineered Materials

Rajan has served as a global product manager at UL Solutions Netherlands since January 2024. In this role, he drives new initiatives and business growth within the plastics and engineered materials portfolio while also leading sustainability strategies and programs across plastics and wire and cable.

With more than two decades of industry experience, Thangaraj has deep expertise in regulatory affairs and has collaborated extensively with European and international bodies — including the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), European Committee for Standardization (CEN) UL Solutions UL Standards & Engagement and others — to develop and advocate for codes, standards and regulations that support the specification and adoption of materials in regulated and standardized markets.

He holds a Master of Technology in polymer technology from the University of Mysuru in India and a post-graduate diploma in plastic engineering from Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) in India.
