Lichen metabolites are natural complex biomolecules derived from the symbiotic exchange between photosynthetic algae and fungal metabolisms. Lichen metabolites are potent bioactive compounds that express strong anti-microbial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cytoprotective, and wound healing properties.
Biolichen extract called CosmosPreserve, an extracted and standardized lichen metabolite composition, provides high-performance multi-functional activity for a wide range of personal care formulations. This new class of bio-preservation represents a major advancement in sustainable green chemistry. Studies and scientific evidence will be reviewed to cover all leading lichen metabolite molecules, their values, and the direction of future R&D.
